Even if we say writing is your passion and there’s no reason for you to get tired of doing it. There will be times that you’ll get burnout because of the loads of work and the stress of maximizing all your thoughts. Writers must take breaks and there are numerous ways on how to freshen up before going back to work.

Take a short nap.

International freelance writers with clients from other countries have irregular schedules and forget to sleep on time. Some disregards the benefit of power naps. Naps are beneficial for writers to increase the level of alertness and productivity. Napping also improves your concentration and help you reduce stress. A good 20 to 30-minute nap will relaxes both your mind and body. Learn to step away from your computer and take a short rest. It can also raise your creativity. For writers, they are required to come up with new ideas for different topics. Naps can boost your memory skills allow you to think better and work faster.

Play with your pet.

You need time to turn your attention to other things that can help you relax. And your loving pets will never fail you on that. Experts said that owning a pet can reduce stress. Pets can lighten up your mood. They make you feel happy and prevent you from thinking your task on hand for awhile. Spend a little time to feed your cat, walk your dogs or teach them some few tricks. Your pet is your nearest doctor; they know when you feel bad and how to make you feel better. They are a good listener and just by talking to them can freshen up your mind. And even if you’re back in your desk (writing), they will choose to stay near you, giving you more inspiration to continue your task.

Cook/prepare your snacks.

There are hobbies that can keep your mind relaxed and cooking is one of them. After writing few articles take a short break to prepare your lunch or snacks. Even if you’re not good at cooking use your short break to learn few recipes. Cooking is truly fun and can keep you away from being exhausted of longer hours spent in writing articles.

Check your social media sites.

Working at home gives you more time to stay online but you have to make sure that you still get your work done on time. When you’re in front of your computer you’re always tempted to check your social sites and see those notifications from your friends. This is actually one of the reasons of low productivity and failure to comply with your deadlines because sometimes, you tend to spend more time talking to your online friends than writing. These social media sites are really addicting but do it in a scheduled time each day. Stay connected with your Facebook or Twitter friends while taking breaks from writing.
